We recently completed a deck rebuild in Canton, Michigan. The existing deck was completely demolished. This gives us a solid canvas to build a new deck with a set of stairs coming off the door wall and down onto a new patio below.
For the decking surface, we used Trex Transcend in Tiki Torch, which is a bold, warm toned composite board and we paired it with Trex Transcend Composite Railing for a durable, low maintenance finish that will hold up for years without the yearly upkeep of a traditional wood deck and railing.
We also installed skirting around the base of the deck to keep critters from getting underneath, along with a trap door on the backside for easy access to a storage space beneath the deck.
